Dispatch Xbox Release | AdHoc Studio Superhero Comedy Coming Summer 2026

The hit workplace superhero comedy from former Telltale Games developers is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming this summer

Last updated: March 30, 2026

Xbox Announcement | Partner Preview Showcase

AdHoc Studio announced during the Xbox Partner Preview showcase on March 26, 2026 that Dispatch is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming this summer. The game will support Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning a single purchase covers both the console and PC versions.

The 30-minute showcase was narrated by Aaron Paul, who voices the game’s protagonist Robert Robertson III, also known by his superhero alias Mecha Man. The broadcast revealed 19 upcoming games, including seven titles making their world debut, with 14 available day one through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Dispatch was not listed among the day-one Game Pass titles at the time of announcement.

Dispatch | How the Game Became a Breakout Hit

Dispatch originally launched on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on October 22, 2025, priced at $29.99 for the standard edition. The game became one of the standout releases of 2025, earning praise for its writing, tone, and performances.

Its commercial performance exceeded most expectations for a narrative episodic title:

Milestone Result
First month sales Over 2 million copies
Sales by January 2026 Surpassed 3 million copies
Steam user reviews 97% positive from 100,000+ reviews

The 97% positive Steam rating, maintained across more than 100,000 reviews, places Dispatch in a rare tier of critically and commercially successful narrative games, comparable to the original reception of Disco Elysium and Hades in their respective launch windows.

Aaron Paul, AdHoc Studio | Cast and Development

Dispatch is developed by AdHoc Studio, a team composed largely of former Telltale Games staff who previously worked on Tales from the Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us. The game is structured as a full-collection episodic experience, consistent with the studio’s background in narrative-driven titles.

Paul voices Robert Robertson III, known publicly as Mecha Man, a superhero navigating the mundane horrors of an office workplace. The game’s comedic framing, a superhero whose actual job is just as demanding as his crime-fighting, drew comparisons to The Boys and Severance in tone, though its interactive narrative format distinguishes it from both.

Xbox Details | Platforms, Game Pass, and Summer Window

The Xbox version of Dispatch will include the full collection of episodes across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Xbox Play Anywhere support means players who purchase on Xbox will automatically have access to the PC version within the same ecosystem.

AdHoc Studio has not confirmed a specific launch date beyond “summer 2026,” nor has Microsoft confirmed whether the title will be added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at or after launch. Given that 14 of the 19 games featured in the showcase were confirmed as day-one Game Pass titles and Dispatch was not among them, a separate pricing structure for the Xbox version appears likely, consistent with the $29.99 price point from its original PlayStation and PC release.

For PlayStation 5 and PC players, all episodes remain available now. Xbox players can pre-register interest through the Xbox storefront ahead of the summer window.
