My Hero Ultra Rumble Season 16 Goes Plus Ultra for the 2.5 Anniversary

LOS ANGELES, CA — Bandai Namco launched Season 16 of My Hero Ultra Rumble today, bringing the first American hero to the battle royale roster and kicking off a two-month anniversary celebration packed with free rewards, limited events, and confirmed upcoming content drops.

Gaming & Esports

Season 16 of My Hero Ultra Rumble is officially live as of March 25, 2026, and Bandai Namco is marking both a new season and the game's 2.5-year anniversary in one of its biggest content drops to date. The headliner is Star and Stripe — the American No. 1 Pro Hero and the first U.S.-based character to join the game's roster — whose New Order Quirk brings a uniquely game-altering playstyle to the battle royale. Alongside the new character launch, the anniversary window opens a cascade of free rewards, limited events, and a confirmed roadmap running through May 27.

New Character: Star and Stripe

Star and Stripe is the American No. 1 Pro Hero — a character whose presence in the My Hero Academia universe has long carried enormous narrative weight — and her debut in Ultra Rumble is designed to match that billing. Her Quirk, New Order, allows her to set a single rule on anything she touches by naming it, effectively rewriting physical laws on the battlefield for a limited window.

In battle royale terms, this translates into a high-ceiling playstyle focused on large-scale environmental control. Her signature ability — the massive air-fist generated by pointing at the sky — gives her one of the longest-range attack vectors in the game, letting her project force across wide open sections of the map that most characters cannot contest from distance. Bandai Namco has classified her as an Assault or Strike role character, meaning her kit leans into heavy hits and tempo plays rather than sustained pressure.

She is available through the Character Roll (Gacha) starting today, with a featured banner running through May 13, 2026. Players who want prioritized access will need to roll during that window — after May 13 she moves into the standard pool.

Assault / Strike — built around massive ranged physical strikes and battlefield rule manipulation. High combo potential against grouped enemies. Giant air-fist projection via New Order — rewrites a named rule on contact. One of the longest reach kits in the current roster.

2.5 Anniversary Events

The anniversary window runs from March 25 through May 27, 2026 — nine weeks of layered event content. Bandai Namco has structured the celebration around a mix of gacha incentives, free draws, and mission reward tracks that give both new and returning players a reason to log in consistently.

Anniversary Select Roll

A special gacha feature exclusive to the anniversary period. Players can select 8 Battle Styles they want added to the featured drop pool, boosting their odds of pulling preferred characters or specific skillsets. This mechanic gives experienced players meaningful agency in how they spend crystals during the window — a significant quality-of-life addition compared to fully randomized standard banners.

Weekly Free 10-Draws

Every week throughout the anniversary window, players can claim a free 10-item draw. This is one of the more generous login-gated reward structures the game has offered — over nine weeks, a player who logs in every week receives 90 free pulls, a substantial number by live-service standards.

Mission Event Vol. 16 (March 25 – April 15)

The first time-limited mission event of the season runs through April 15. Players earn "Yellow EP" by completing event missions, which can then be exchanged in the event shop for:

  • Tamaki Amajiki — Hero Costume (Villain Style)
  • Ochaco Uraraka — U.A. Track Suit (Heat variant)
  • Hero Crystals — up to 6,000 via event shop exchanges

Login Bonuses

Daily login rewards during the anniversary period include Roll Tickets and Gallery Pieces commemorating the 2.5-year milestone. These stack with the weekly free draws for players who log in consistently throughout the celebration.

Season 16 Roadmap

Season 16 is not a one-day event — Bandai Namco has published a structured content calendar through the end of May. Several of the confirmed drops are among the more anticipated pieces of content the community has been tracking.

April 22 — Bakugo "Cluster" Skillset

The most anticipated content drop after the Star and Stripe launch. A new Technical battle style for Katsuki Bakugo is confirmed to go live April 22. The "Cluster" kit centers on his AP Shot Cluster technique — condensed explosive energy rounds that continue to detonate on impact, creating layered explosion chains that reward precise aim and positioning. Technical role characters in MHUR generally reward mechanical skill with higher damage ceilings.

April 22 — Area Control Battle Event

A new competitive event format launching alongside the Bakugo drop. Area Control Battle uses a simplified Rank system compared to the main ranked mode, making it more accessible for casual and returning players while still offering competitive structure. Details on reward tiers have not yet been fully disclosed.

T.U.N.I.N.G Missions (Two Phases)

The game's character tuning slot system gets dedicated mission content in two phases: April 1–15 and May 6–20. These missions are designed to help players level up their character enhancement slots — a progression system that increases stat ceilings and unlocks passive bonuses for specific characters.

New Costumes — Shinobi and Undefeatable Variants

"Shinobi" themed outfits for Class 1-A characters and "Undefeatable" costume variants for top-tier Pro Heroes are cycling through the limited shop during the season. Costume schedules in MHUR follow a rotational structure, so players who want specific looks will need to monitor the shop window or check the in-game calendar.

Star and Stripe launches. Anniversary Select Roll opens. Weekly free draws begin. Mission Event Vol. 16 starts. Bakugo Cluster (Technical) skillset drops. Area Control Battle competitive event begins with simplified Rank system. Anniversary window closes. Final weekly free draw. Log in before this date to claim all anniversary rewards.
Why Season 16 Matters:
Star and Stripe is not just a new character — she is the first non-Japanese hero in the game's roster, a milestone for a title that has leaned heavily on the core U.A. student and teacher pool. Her addition signals that Bandai Namco is willing to pull from the broader global hero ecosystem as the game enters its third year. The 2.5 anniversary reward structure is also among the most generous the game has offered — 90 free pulls over nine weeks gives F2P players a realistic shot at the new character without spending.

How to Prepare

If you are returning to MHUR for the anniversary or jumping in fresh for Star and Stripe, here is what to prioritize on day one:

  • Claim your first weekly free 10-draw immediately — these reset weekly and missing one cannot be made up retroactively.
  • Set up your Anniversary Select Roll preferences — choose 8 Battle Styles that match your playstyle before spending crystals, as this directly improves your pull odds for preferred characters.
  • Start Mission Event Vol. 16 early — the event runs until April 15 and the Yellow EP exchange includes up to 6,000 Hero Crystals, which can be used on the Star and Stripe banner before it closes May 13.
  • Mark April 22 on your calendar — the Bakugo Cluster drop and Area Control Battle event both launch that day.
