Embark Studios is rolling out the Flashpoint update for Arc Raiders on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, bringing new threats, weapons, and gameplay systems to the extraction shooter across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The free content drop is expected to go live at approximately 1:30 AM PT, with servers going offline for a maintenance window lasting between one and three hours beforehand. Players should expect access to be unavailable from approximately 10:30 PM PT on Monday, March 30.

What Flashpoint Adds | New Enemies, Weapons, Map Conditions

The Flashpoint update is Arc Raiders' most substantial free content drop since launch. Embark has confirmed three headline additions arriving with the patch: a new category of enemy type introducing novel threat patterns into the game's extraction zones, a new weapons batch expanding the available loadout pool, and dynamic map conditions — a system that introduces unpredictable environmental variables into live zones, changing how players approach each drop.

The dynamic map conditions system is the most significant mechanical addition. Rather than static zone layouts, Flashpoint introduces variable weather and environmental events that alter visibility, movement speed, and machine enemy patrol behavior in real time during a session. A zone that runs clear during one deployment may be hit by an electrical storm in the next, grounding certain equipment loadouts and forcing squads to adapt mid-run rather than relying on pre-memorized routes.

New Enemies | Expanded Threat Roster

Embark has not fully detailed the new enemy types ahead of the update, but pre-patch teasers on the Arc Raiders social channels indicate at least one new machine class sitting between the existing scout and Sentinel tiers — a mid-weight, fast-moving pursuer designed to counter squads that have learned to use terrain and cover to neutralize slower heavy units. A second teaser suggests a new airborne enemy variant capable of flanking squads vertically, a threat type not currently present in the base game's roster.

The additions address one of the most consistent pieces of community feedback from the Early Access period: that the existing enemy hierarchy, while well-designed, becomes predictable for experienced squads. New enemy behaviors directly disrupt established rotations, particularly in the game's higher-difficulty ARK vault areas.

Free Update | No Purchase Required

Flashpoint is a free update for all Arc Raiders players across every platform. No battle pass, expansion purchase, or Founder's Pack ownership is required to access the new enemies, weapons, or map conditions. Embark has maintained a strict separation between gameplay-affecting content, which is always free, and cosmetic content sold through the ARK Store, and Flashpoint continues that policy.

The update will download automatically when servers come back online. PC players on Steam can pre-load the patch during the maintenance window. Patch notes will be published to the official Arc Raiders website and Steam page at the time of server restoration.
